Terms of Service

1. Service description
ChartCuts provides tools to generate music rankings from public/metadata sources, create vertical video layouts, and optionally publish shorts to TikTok via the official API. The service is intended for editorial, commentary, and chart-style content — not for replacing official music distribution.
2. Automatic & assisted publishing
When you enable TikTok integration, the software may:
- Upload a video file you generated or approved in the local dashboard.
- Attach a title, description, and hashtags prepared from the ranking job.
- Schedule or immediate-post according to settings you configure (MVP may use manual confirmation per post).
You remain the publisher. Each post is made to the TikTok account you authorize. ChartCuts does not guarantee reach, monetization, or that TikTok will accept every upload (copyright, community guidelines, or technical limits may apply).
3. Your responsibilities
- You must have rights to use any audio, video, artwork, and trademarks in your exports.
- You must comply with TikTok Terms of Service, music licensing, and applicable copyright law.
- You must not use the tool for spam, misleading charts, or impersonation.
- You are responsible for API credentials, rate limits, and account security.
4. Rankings disclaimer
Rankings combine automated signals (popularity, genre fit, release year) and editorial rules. They are opinions for entertainment/editorial purposes, not factual charts endorsed by labels or streaming platforms.
5. Availability & changes
The software is provided “as is” during MVP. Features (YouTube download, Remotion render, TikTok post) may change, break, or require manual steps. We may update these terms; continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChartCuts operators are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, Content ID claims, account strikes, or data loss. Your sole remedy is to stop using the software and delete local data.
7. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. Disconnect TikTok OAuth and remove API keys from your environment. We may suspend access if you violate these terms or platform policies.
