ChartCuts Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026 · This Privacy Policy applies to the ChartCuts application (“ChartCuts”, “the App”, “we”, “us”) including the ChartCuts website, operator tools, and TikTok Content Posting API integration.
1. About ChartCuts
ChartCuts is an editorial workflow for music top-10 charts and short-form video. ChartCuts helps operators generate ranked lists, render vertical shorts, and optionally publish to TikTok when the operator authorizes the ChartCuts app via OAuth. This policy describes how ChartCuts handles data.
2. Data ChartCuts processes
- Ideas & rankings — text prompts, generated top-10 lists, scores, and metadata stored in ChartCuts job files.
- Media assets — rendered MP4/HTML/SVG previews; optional source clips for chart commentary.
- Music APIs — Spotify, Last.fm, MusicBrainz queries (track titles, artists, years, popularity). ChartCuts does not collect end-user listening history from those services beyond search results.
- TikTok (optional) — when you connect ChartCuts to TikTok, OAuth tokens and posting payloads are stored locally and used only to upload content you approved in ChartCuts.
- Technical logs — local ChartCuts dashboard/worker logs for debugging (no third-party ad tracking).
3. How ChartCuts uses data
- Build and display editorial rankings and video previews inside ChartCuts.
- Prepare titles, descriptions, and hashtags for short-form platforms.
- Publish to TikTok when you authorize ChartCuts and trigger or schedule a post.
- Improve ranking quality (genre/year fit, source diversity) on infrastructure you control.
4. Sharing
ChartCuts does not sell personal information. Data is shared only with:
- Music data providers you configure in ChartCuts (Spotify, Last.fm, MusicBrainz).
- TikTok when you enable ChartCuts publishing (video file + caption metadata).
- Infrastructure you choose if you self-host ChartCuts.
5. Retention & deletion
ChartCuts jobs and renders remain until you delete them. Revoke ChartCuts access in TikTok developer settings to invalidate OAuth tokens. API keys in your ChartCuts configuration are your responsibility to rotate.
6. Your rights
Because ChartCuts is primarily an operator tool, you control files on your infrastructure. Contact support@chartcuts.app for access, correction, or deletion requests.
7. Children
ChartCuts is not directed at children under 13. ChartCuts does not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes
We may update this ChartCuts Privacy Policy; the “Last updated” date will change. Material changes will be noted on the ChartCuts home page.
