Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

ChartCuts is an editorial workflow for music top-10 charts and short-form video, operated by the account holder who installs and runs the software. This policy describes how data is handled when you use ranking generation, local preview, and optional TikTok publishing.

2. Data we process

• Ideas & rankings — text prompts, generated top-10 lists, scores, and metadata stored locally in data/jobs.
• Media assets — rendered MP4/HTML/SVG under data/renders; optional source clips in data/videos.
• Music APIs — Spotify, Last.fm, MusicBrainz queries (track titles, artists, years, popularity). No end-user listening history is collected from those services beyond search results.
• TikTok (optional) — OAuth tokens and posting payloads when you connect TikTok Content Posting API; used only to upload content you approved.
• Technical logs — local dashboard/worker logs for debugging (no third-party ad tracking).

3. How we use data

• Build and display editorial rankings and video previews.
• Prepare titles, descriptions, and hashtags for short-form platforms.
• Publish to TikTok when you authorize the API and trigger or schedule a post.
• Improve ranking quality (genre/year fit, source diversity) — processing stays on your infrastructure unless you deploy to a hosted server you control.

4. Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Data is shared only with:

• Music data providers you configure (Spotify, Last.fm, MusicBrainz).
• TikTok when you enable publishing (video file + caption metadata).
• Infrastructure you choose if you self-host (your cloud provider under your agreements).

5. Retention & deletion

Local jobs and renders remain until you delete them from data/jobs and data/renders. Revoke TikTok access in TikTok developer settings to invalidate tokens. API keys in .env are your responsibility to rotate.

6. Your rights

Because this is primarily a self-hosted operator tool, you control the files on disk. For hosted deployments, contact us at support@chartcuts.app for access, correction, or deletion requests.

7. Children

ChartCuts is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date will change. Material changes will be noted on the home page.
